Yes, get a used industrial machine. A home sewing machine wont last at all under regular use of these materials. Industrial machine will last you YEARS….it might even out-last you. Get a double needle lockstichn with top and bottom needle feed. This will give you all the pulling power you will need with that thick leather/fabric. With this machine the presser foot and needle moves in synchronization with the feed dog, and they pull together.
